“A case study of a dysfunctional group of
unmotivated employees”

Considering that I've been to this
place so many times and that I even threw a birthday party for my sister for
her 17th birthday in 1994, I can safely say that I know Cafe Batavia very well.
I fell in love with Cafe Batavia as soon as it opened in 1993. I loved the
building, the pictures on the walls, the pictures in the toilets, the toilet
wash basin design, the furniture, the food, and the service. Everything was
great. I took my friends from all over the world that visited me in London to
Cafe Batavia and they loved it. Cafe Batavia is akin to a fine woman. It is
beautiful and it has great character. However, age is winning this battle. The
fine woman I once knew has now become a bitter older woman. The
receptionist/door attendant is half-hearted and to the point of just plain
lazy. This negative energy greets you when you enter through the heavy steel and
glass doors. The wait staff are the slowest and laziest in the entire country.
I have been to many places all over the UK and I stand firm on this statement.
The restaurant upstairs is a case study of a dysfunctional group of unmotivated
employees. Food is edible, not at all great, and it is expensive. Yes, it's all
true. The Cafe Batavia I once loved has now become a tourist trap. Too bad...
Evaluate whether financial rewards
would be the best way to resolve the problem of
a dysfunctional group of unmotivated employees in this restaurant”.
